The Greatest American Hero was a comedy-drama television series on ABC. It was created by Stephen J. Cannell. After a pilot movie it was picked up and ran for 3 seasons from 1981 to 1983. It detailed the adventures of Ralph Hinkley; a high school teacher who was given a suit that gave him super powers by a group of aliens. Alongside FBI agent; Bill Maxwell and his girlfriend, later wife; Pam Davidson, Ralph fought various criminals, spies, terrorists, and other threats to innocent people. After it was ended a pilot for a spinoff; The Greatest American Heroine, was aired but the series didn't take off.
